One of several films made to cash in on the success of the Black Emanuelle film series, although in this film Laura Gemser’s Emanuelle character has nothing to do with the photojournalist character Emanuelle from the original series. The film has numerous alternate titles, including ‘I mavri Emmanouella’, which was the original Greek title, ‘Secrets érotiques d’Emmanuelle’, ‘Emanuelle: Queen Bitch’, ‘Emanuelle: Queen of Sados’, and ‘Emanuelle’s Daughter’. The last three were the titles for various English speaking countries, while Sexy Moon was what the film played as in Italy.
This was Gemser’ s eleventh Emanuelle film, and the writers were running out of interesting things for her to do, so they chose to have her play an unhappy wife who has her terrible husband murdered. At that point she becomes guardian to the departed’s now rich daughter, who’s played by Livia Russo.
Livia Russo was only 14 during filming, so her nude scenes and especially the quite graphic rape scene are quite controversial.
